KYHA Studios’ Le Coucou runway at NYBFW was nothing short of a theatrical triumph, seamlessly blending fashion with immersive storytelling. As we entered the venue, it felt as though we were transported into a snow-covered wonderland. The atmosphere was charged—flashes of light bounced off the walls, casting a cool, icy glow, while the deep, rhythmic beats of music set the tone for what was to come. Video projections from the campaign shoot, filmed amidst snow-capped peaks, swirled around the room, immediately pulling the audience into the Le Coucou world.
When the runway show commenced, the models floated down the catwalk like ethereal snow queens. KYHA’s founder and creative director, Kyha Scott, once again demonstrated her mastery of innovation with deeply dipped waistlines, exposed corsetry, and her signature organic draping reflecting the shapes of snow drifts. Fabrics like crepe, chiffon, vegan leather, and stretch net introduced a fresh texture story. At the same time, the real showstopper came in the form of three new beaded fabrications, each evoking the glisten and luminosity of ice and snow. The icy, bespoke embellishment featured six flat sequins, tassel beadwork designed to catch the light, and all-over sequins were met with audible gasps from the audience.
But what made this collection so special wasn’t just the couture craftsmanship and the full-circle storytelling. Le Coucou doesn’t just reference après-ski style, and it embodies the balance of rugged mountain peaks and soft snowfalls that inspired the entire collection. Scott noted, “Snowscapes are a fresh creative territory for me—contrasting the hardness of the mountains with the softness of snow was a driving force behind the collection.”
New York, it seems, is a fitting stage for KYHA Studios. Scott’s bold vision resonated deeply with the crowd, with many praising her ability to take her designs to a new level. Le Coucou marks a new chapter in her career, where the alpine-inspired aesthetic meets high-fashion brides in a captivating, elevated way. KYHA has certainly taken it up a notch, and all eyes were on her as she firmly planted her flag on the international fashion scene.
This 34-piece collection will be available in early October at KYHA Studios’ flagship stores and select stockists worldwide, allowing brides worldwide to step into the Le Coucou experience.
