Inside Jasmin and Tom’s Late-Summer Wedding in the Umbrian Countryside

The Bridal Journey
The late-summer sun settled softly over Umbria, washing the ancient stone chapel and rolling green hills in a warm, honeyed glow. Cicadas hummed in the distance, the vineyards breathed out the remnants of summer heat, and the air carried that intoxicating blend of olive trees, earth, and anticipation. It was here, in the quiet heart of Italy, that Australian couple Jasmin and Tom gathered their favourite people for a celebration that felt less like a production and more like a love story curated gently and intentionally. Elegant, effortless, and quintessentially Italian.
The Couple and Their Umbrian Setting
Jasmin Hannigan, founder of Disruptive Agency and a powerhouse in Australia’s digital talent landscape, first met Tom as teenagers in 2009. What began as a quiet high-school crush evolved, many years later, into the kind of love that makes perfect sense in hindsight. After reconnecting online in 2020, the pair fell into an easy rhythm, talking on the phone daily until their first in-person date in Sydney confirmed what both already suspected: this was it.

Their venue was discovered in the most modern way possible: a single Pinterest image of two long tables beside a restored chapel in the Umbrian hills. They tracked the property down, posed their daring question – “Are you free on the twentieth of September?” – and were met with a resounding yes. With planners and stylists Alessandra Zucca and Chrissie Todd guiding from the ground, Jasmin and Tom built a celebration rooted in local produce, warm hospitality, and the unmistakable charm of the Italian countryside.

Fashion and Beauty
Jasmin’s fashion moment was one of pure intuition. Her Corston Couture gown, discovered at The Ivory Room in Paddington, was love at first sight – a clean, sculptural silhouette that felt refined and unmistakably her. Originally designed with long silk sleeves, the dress was customised with cap sleeves to suit the thirty-degree sunshine, preserving its elegance while making it truly bespoke.
Her glam carried the same elevated ease. Hair and makeup were created by her best friend, celebrated artist Emma Chen, who crafted a modern, luminous look that felt timeless under the Umbrian light. A veil from The Ivory Room danced softly behind her, while diamond cuffs gifted by her parents for her thirtieth birthday and jewellery from Magnolia Avenue completed the look. A Love Bracelet from Tom, presented in Rome just days earlier, added a final romantic flourish.

Tom’s attire came courtesy of The Bespoke Corner. Guided by founder Miles Wharton, he chose a classic black tuxedo in a rich, structured fabric – a piece tailored so immaculately it will look just as strong in photographs decades from now. His shoes were by Bally, a subtle nod to timeless European craftsmanship.
Their wedding was also a true fashion moment for guests. Many of Jasmin’s long-time clients and friends from the influencer world were in attendance, including Maxine Wylde, making for a stylish, colourful, and beautifully photographed crowd.

The Ceremony
Because they had legally married in Australia prior, the Italian ceremony became entirely symbolic – a blank canvas for meaning. The couple chose one of their closest friends, Matt, to officiate, weaving stories from family and friends into a deeply personal reflection of the lives they had built separately and together.
Tom made his entrance to “Man I Need” by Olivia Dean, while Jasmin walked the aisle to “The Vow” by RuthAnne. Their recessional, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire, was a joyful nod to memories of dancing together in their kitchen and the significance of the date itself. The moment the song burst into the open Umbrian air felt like pure celebration.

The Reception
Dinner unfolded garden-party style, beneath festoon lights and the open sky, with guests seated at two long tables running alongside the restored chapel. The colour palette was intentionally unexpected. While Jasmin naturally leans toward classic white-and-gold minimalism, Tom nudged them toward something bolder. Vintage plates in shades of blue, red, green and black created a joyful, eclectic tablescape, with florals by Sartoria Floreale designed to mirror those tones.
There was no bridal table. Instead, Jasmin and Tom wove themselves through their favourite people, embracing a night designed for connection.
Tonino, from Cortona, delivered one of the most talked-about menus of the season: freshly carved prosciutto, warm melted brie, arancini fried to order, and a long, indulgent pasta course. It was authentic, abundant, and exactly what their guests had hoped Italy would taste like.

Standout Moments and Personal Touches
As lovers of house music, the couple always knew their first dance would break tradition. They chose “Next to You” by RÜFÜS DU SOL, building from a slow, intimate opening into a crescendo timed perfectly with fireworks. The display was a total surprise. When the beat dropped and the sky lit up, the crowd erupted – screaming, jumping, and crying all at once. It became one of the defining images of the night.
The speeches were another highlight. With family flown in from the UK and Australia meeting for the very first time, the emotion was palpable. Unexpected mishaps also added their charm – including a temporary panic when Jasmin saw a photo of the unfinished florals and believed they were final. Later she laughed, admitting it felt like a crisis in the moment but now lives happily in wedding folklore.

Closing Reflection
For Jasmin and Tom, this wasn’t just a wedding. It was a merging of worlds, a celebration stitched together with colour, music, and the gentle ease of a long-awaited love. In the postcard landscape of Umbria, surrounded by people who shaped them, they built a day that felt unforced, unhurried, and unforgettable. A true Italian garden soirée, crafted with heart.
