Eight years ago, Ashley & Jordan’s love story began amidst the romance and charm of Italy, so it felt only fitting to celebrate their marriage where it all started. The couple chose Rome, a city that had left an indelible mark on their hearts. It wasn’t just the historic grandeur or the breathtaking scenery that drew them back—it was the warmth of the people they encountered, like Simona Tagliabue of Hotel De La Ville, and the unforgettable locations that held so much meaning. For them, Rome was more than a destination; it was the embodiment of their love story
The planning for Ashley & Jordan’s wedding began in Sydney, where the couple enlisted the expertise of After the Rock Weddings. With their reputation for curating unforgettable events, Georgie and Katie provided invaluable guidance, helping the couple navigate the complexities of planning a wedding abroad. Their input was instrumental in connecting the bride and groom with photographer Alice Mahran, whose artistry would immortalize the day, and Chiara Raine, the visionary founder of Avenue Cipresso, who brought the entire event to life as the Destination Wedding Planner. Together, this talented team orchestrated a celebration that was as seamless as it was spectacular.
“We chose Rome to celebrate our wedding for a few reasons. The obvious ones being the love we have for the Italian culture, the timelessness of the architecture and the romantic essence of the eternal city.”
“The wedding festivities unfolded over four magical days, beginning with an unforgettable evening at Ristorante Da Meo Patacca, an iconic Roman eatery nestled in the heart of Trastevere. The couple arrived in a teal blue Fiat Spider with guests being treated to a menu brimming with authentic Roman flavours“
“Post-welcome dinner and pre-ceremony, we dedicated a day for guests to explore Rome and for us to privately exchange our vows with Rein & Robin from Plus Two Films and later joining our bridal party for a Slim Aarons inspired photoshoot.”
Ashley wore a custom J Andreatta gown, inspired by Grace Kelly’s wedding gown and a vintage Alexander McQueen veil. The bridesmaids wore custom Redrew Clothing dresses, designed specifically for Rome with Drew. “The dresses were inspired by the 90s runway collection from Ralph Lauren.”
“Arriving to Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola to the sounds of a string quartet and a close friend singing tenor opera, the bride and groom left the church in a vintage Rolls Royce Corniche to go directly back to Hotel De La Ville and meet the bridal party for a photo shoot on the balcony of the Presidential Suite, which continued on to the streets of Rome.“
“Guests were whisked away from the breathtaking Sant’Ignazio to the elegant Hotel De La Ville, where aperitifs awaited at the rooftop Cielo Bar before a night of dinner and dancing in the Garden Courtyard“
“The fourth day of festivities brought about a recovery brunch in the Jardin De Russie with roaming canopies and cocktails being served while live music played on the saxophone“
